The following was written by a friend in response to the question,”What good can you imagine that God is working by allowing Obama to be elected”. Thank you Ginger for your thoughts.

“Maybe God has some one in His plan that will make an impact on Obama. The guy who fixes his computer when it crashes or his secretary are strong believers and they will begin to talk to Him. Maybe his wife will have her hair fixed by someone who is exactly what she needs to trust and feed her truth. Maybe the nanny that Obama and his wife entrust their kids with will be a constant testimony and be that light that reflects God and love. Maybe as this nanny helps raise their children, the children will develop values, and integrity, and love like the nanny has shown them. Maybe these children will have a first hand knowledge of what works in government but over the next four years will develop a soul that is strong, that sees truth and this prepares them for an impact on our future. Maybe they will be the ones who are most prepared to lead our nation later.

Maybe this is the time for our decline as a nation, maybe the contrast between good and evil will become more apparent. Maybe as our “stuff” begins to be taken away from us, we will be forced to see that we are still in need of something instead of being content with having our soul tickled with houses, money, and people. Maybe as we feel the depth of the reality of dissatisfaction and loneliness in our soul, we will look to what is left, to who is left. Maybe as a nation we will finally see the only constant that never changed. Maybe without all the distractions of a wealthy nation not under God, we will finally be able to see.

For me personally, I hope I will be able to see. I hope I will be able to beleive, and if it takes a President who has a very uncertain future to help me see and beleive then I hope I can thank God and I hope I can see and believe.
