This post is the seventh in a series titled “Transformation Workbook“.

I am told that good writers summarize what they have written and what they are about to write before they move on. The old adage says: Tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them and then tell them what you told them. These few paragraphs are my attempt to follow these guidelines and make it easier for you to follow the content. The complete outline of the workbook as follows:

Purpose-Pattern-Processing-Problem-Provision

To date, I have written 2 out of 5 sections of the Transformation Workbook.

The first section dealt with God’s Purpose for the believer in this life. Our purpose as Christians is to glorify Him. To glorify God means to make Him known and bring praise and worship to His person. He accomplishes His glory through us by changing our hearts to be like Christ and thereby enabling us to express His own virtues through our souls to the world of men. We glorify Him as others are able to see His character in us.

The second section titled “Pattern” dealt with our relationship with God as Royal Family of God. We discussed three subsections. The first subsection discussed our divine design after God’s own image making us compatible for relationship. The second subsection talked about intimate relating with God as the means of completing our deepest needs. The final subsection dealt with the processing faculties of mind and heart that God built into the human soul so that He could communicate with mankind.

So far, what we have discussed is intended to build an understanding of the system God built into the human soul. This system allows God to put His thoughts into ours so that we can think, feel, speak and act like Christ. In the next section, we will build upon what we have developed to see why and how we build our beliefs into a belief system. This belief system that we all build and possess is the control center of the human soul. It controls our thoughts, motives, feelings and behaviors.

Our goal in this study is to understand how we came to be like we are and also understand how to change how we are to be like Jesus Christ. At any time you do not understand what I have written, please e-mail me for clarification. The questions at the end of most of the articles are there to help you think through the way you are now. Self-discovery under the scrutiny of the word of God is the first step to being transformed into the image of His Son.  As you come to see what you have believed that motivates you to sin and rebell against God, you can learn how to remove those false ideas and replace them with the beliefs used by Christ in His incarnation. This is how we are transformed into the image of Christ.

My prayers are with you and I am here to help you find your way.
